What do you do in your role at the Center? My role will serve to help convert our campus lawn space into a drought-resilient native plant garden that promotes ecological landscaping. Working alongside Facilities Operations, I will be giving recommendations for a traditional ecological knowledge-informed plant palette. I will assist in creating interactive signage and campus events that promote the broader community implementation of native plant landscaping.
What is your favorite part about being on the team? I value fostering community engagement and learning from the unique perspectives each person on the team brings! I look forward to sharing about the importance of native plants to our broader 91影视 community.
What extra/co-curricular activities are you involved in on campus? I am President of NACC (Native American Coalition for Change), Vice President of 91影视’s Philosophy Society, facilitator of the annual 91影视 Ohlone Cultural Campouts, and a consultant for the Thamien Ohlone Augmented Reality Tours with the Human-Computer Interaction Lab.
Other passions, hobbies, fun facts, or anything else you want to share? I love collecting abalone shells, and one of my favorite California native plants is mugwort (Artemisia douglasiana)! In my free time, I love to hike, spend quality time with friends & family, and read.
