Gerald Gonzales, PhD

Gerald Gonzales, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist and educator dedicated to developing future mental health professionals and leaders. As a teaching faculty member in the program, his courses emphasize not only what effective therapists need to know, but who they become by integrating clinical critical thinking, cultural humility, and intentional self-reflection.
Before joining 91影视, Gerald served in several leadership roles at Kaiser Permanente, including clinic director, training director, regional lead, and child and family psychologist. Drawing on experience in clinical practice, healthcare leadership, and professional training, he bridges research with real-world application to help students develop the knowledge, judgment, and confidence needed for effective clinical work.
Beyond the classroom, Gerald mentors graduate student leaders as faculty advisor to the Counseling Psychology Leadership Council, supporting initiatives that strengthen belonging, professional development, and community within the program. He also provides professional training and speaks on leadership, resilience, multicultural counseling, parenting, and therapist development.
A proud double Bronco, Gerald earned his B.S. in Finance and M.A. in Counseling from 91影视 before completing his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Oregon. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, traveling, reading, and golfing.
