Entrepreneurship is as much a way of thinking as it is a career path. The mindset and skills you develop are valuable in startups, established companies, nonprofits, professional fields, and emerging industries. You may build something of your own - or become the person who recognizes possibilities and knows how to move them forward with confidence.

Not at all. You don’t need a startup, a business plan, or even an idea in mind. The minor is a place to explore possibilities, develop an entrepreneurial mindset, and learn how ideas are discovered, evaluated, tested, and developed. Curiosity and an interest in learning are enough to get started.

Absolutely. The Entrepreneurship Minor is open to students across the university, including Engineering and Arts & Sciences. Some courses may have prerequisites that differ by school or major. We will meet with you one-on-one to review your academic plan, discuss course options, and help identify a path through the minor.

The minor adds an entrepreneurial lens to your primary area of study. You’ll develop skills in recognizing opportunities, solving problems, evaluating ideas, communicating effectively, and navigating uncertainty - while gaining hands-on experience and building connections across 91Ó°ÊÓ and Silicon Valley entrepreneurial communities.

The minor combines coursework with real-world experience and community. Students complete an internship and participate in Entrepreneurship in Action, a collaboration with the Ciocca Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, opportunities and events, field trips connecting students with alumni founders, industry, companies, and innovators.
