Ashley Koh, M.S., is a doctoral candidate earning her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University of North Texas. She received her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Urban Studies at Wheaton College in Illinois. Ashley has worked in various clinical settings, including a substance use treatment center, community mental health clinic, private practice, VA medical center, safety-net hospital, and university counseling centers. Most recently, she completed her year-long practicum training at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Across these settings, Ashley has facilitated group, couples, and individual therapy for children, emerging adults, and older adults. Her clinical interests include multiculturally responsive care, trauma, anxiety, BIPOC wellbeing, depression, grief, spirituality, adult attachment, interpersonal relationships, ADHD, and life transitions. Ashley applies an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and psychodynamic modalities. She takes on a client-centered approach to help clients build coping skills, get unstuck from internal struggles, and move toward a more fulfilling, values-driven life. Ashley warmly welcomes individuals from all backgrounds and is committed to learning about each client’s unique context to adapt therapy to their specific needs. She strives to provide a safe and empowering space for clients to heal and reconnect with what truly matters to them. In her free time, she enjoys pottery, running, playing guitar, and sharing meals with friends.
